So like at least a year or so ago I started this Project and never put the finishing touches on it. Really it's just the panel graphics that I never got around to doing. It's a clone of the old Paia synth modules. The 2720 keyboard and some of the 4700 modules too. Everything was hand fabricated and all the circuits built on stripboards. In future posts I'll break down the modules, take pictures, and share the veroboard layouts.
Stay tuned!
This looked pretty promising, whatever happened to the follow up posts?
ReplyDeleteYea, it's something I haven't gotten around to documenting yet. The plan was to do a separate post for each module and share my veroboard layouts. That obviously hasn't happened yet. I need to get motivated again somehow. The Paia stuff is great for the beginner to intermediate DIY synth enthusiast. I learned a ton putting this thing together.
Deleteyeah they look really fun, would love to see those stripboard layouts and documentations whenever you get around to it!
DeleteI really hope that someday you will post layouts. Before seeing your project, I planned to build something like this.
ReplyDeleteHey, Yea I haven't touched the thing in years... I still have it in a room collecting dust, and I'm pretty sure I the layout files somewhere.
DeleteWhat part of the synth are you most interested in? Making the keyboard was a real chore involving tiny magnets and reed switches. A lot of the modules are pretty simple though.
One unfortunate aspect of the old Paia stuff is it uses odd voltages - so it doesn't work well with other synth equipment.
I have a new electric organ keys. I will build a keyboard according to the 2720-8 scheme.
DeleteI'm going to build all 4700 modules and some from 2700.
Hz/V not problem for me but only synthesizer that i have now is Korg MS-20 using same standard.
I still hope to see your veroboard layouts even though i started making them myself.
